The IDC Experience
The core of this event is the professional practice and academic landscape of industrial design.
At the same time, we recognize that many disciplines, methodologies, and skillsets now overlap and blur into what is often called, simply, Design. IDC is a space to celebrate these deep interconnections while simultaneously amplifying the unique and bold voice of industrial designers.
Through the sharing of ideas, you'll come away with a fresh perspective and actionable insights ready to be implemented into your own work.
All creative disciplines are invited to join the conversation and learn from other designers who are actively creating a better future, today.
Here are just a few of topics we are planning to explore at IDC 2022:
-
Designing iconic products that challenge the status quo
-
Seamless integration of physical and digital experiences
-
Leveraging design and technology to foster health and wellness
-
Building equitable communities and the necessity of intersectionality in our industry
-
Service design blueprinting for industrial design
-
Best practices for designing for clients while maintaining your personal design identity
-
Championing for user research in the industrial design process
-
Career pathways into and out of ID and UX design
-
How to build meaningful inclusivity into organizations

Join Us In-person or Virtually
We are beyond excited to return to an in-person format for IDC 2022.
Connecting with colleagues face to face is a hallmark of the IDC experience. Your well-being is our top priority. A range of COVID-19 safety measures will be in place to protect your health and peace of mind so you can focus on getting the most out of your time at IDC 2022.
If you can't make the trip to Seattle, don't worry! We have an option available for you to attend the event virtually and access all of the main stage content presented during all three days of the event.
Recordings of all main stage content will also be made available exclusively to IDC 2022 ticket holders post-event so you can revisit your favorite moments.
Three days together, one big experience.
We've designed the schedule to maximize your learning while ensuring there is plenty of opportunities for networking and socializing with friends old and new.
IDC 2022 includes many programs, all in one compact package: IDC main stage presentations and skill-building workshops, IDSA Education Symposium, Exhibitor Design Gallery, IDEA Ceremony & Gala, IDSA Awards Ceremony, IDSA Business Meeting, and IDC parties at the Seattle Aquarium and Tactile.
