ABOUT IDEA
The International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) is organized annually by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). Each year, thousands of entries are submitted by designers across the globe in hopes of securing a highly prized IDEA recognition. The competition is open to professional designers (corporate in-house teams, brands, studios, independent consultants, and entrepreneurs) and students.
2025 marks the 45th anniversary of IDEA, making it one of the longest running and most prestigious design awards programs in existence. Originally founded to recognize exceptional achievement in industrial design, the program has since grown to highlight design in many connected disciplines, including design strategy, branding, digital interaction, environments, social impact, and so much more.
ABOUT IDSA DESIGN FOUNDATION
The IDSA Design Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, aims to increase access to industrial design education and create opportunities for young designers who are beginning their journey into the field. Through its focus on education as the starting point for a successful career in industrial design, the IDSA Design Foundation helps to generate awareness of industrial design within the general public. ​ The IDSA Design Foundation endeavors to provide learning opportunities for students (regardless of age, institution, or background) of industrial design. It exists to facilitate knowledge exchange and educate new sectors and people about industrial design. The IDSA Design Foundation constantly strives to extend the arm of industrial design into new areas in order to provide more learning opportunities.
