Pulling on over a decade of design + business model experimentation, the team at Box Clever would like to share our learnings with the international design community.

Let’s explore the power of independent, nimble creative teams, and how we are all creating tremendous value and impact through design - for startups and established fortune 100 companies.

We will also discuss how our industry’s traditional fees-for-service model often does not reflect the true value that we all create, and that forces us to explore other models and other ways to balance risk & reward.

Box Garden Ventures is proving there can be a new model, a new way of doing things - and we hope that by sharing lessons learned, through case studies + principles, we can provide other studios with the tools needed to thrive in this new era of business and design.

Bret, Dickon, and BGV Partner/s would join together in a rich discussion about what it takes to build + design a company in this modern era of business - and share lessons learned to highlight that the new model we’re developing at Box Garden Ventures works - and can be an inspiration and possible blueprint for other design agencies and founders.

The audience will learn...

1. PEOPLE + POSITIVE IMPACT - Learn the principles behind the team's choices for who to partner with, and their lessons learned with the first cohort of portfolio companies.

2. SHARED REWARD - Learn how Box Garden Ventures structures their engagements with new founders, to ensure there is improved balance.

3. A NEW PROCESS - Learn the differences in design process between traditional studio model and one focused on co-creation.
