Kelsey Leppek, IDSA

Western Washington University

Originally from Colorado, I moved to Washington for a change of scenery and opportunity. I come from an eclectic work background, having studied pottery and worked as an artist, trail builder, wilderness therapy guide, and arts and sustainability educator in the non-profit sector. I believe that design has the power to provide answers to questions surrounding not only tangible needs but also emotional and cultural ones. Good design elevates an experience and lends a sense of humanity to a user, and great design goes a step further, addressing the holistic environmental, societal, and cultural conditions as well.

For 60 years, the Industrial Designers Society of America has worked to advance the practice of industrial design through education, information, community, and advocacy. Our roots stretch to the beginning of the profession, and our members are, and have been, some of the most celebrated industrial designers of all time. Today, we exist as a global voice for industrial design within a broad ecosystem of design disciplines and we celebrate the cross-functional overlap of many creative fields.
