IDC 2020 Emcees

Kristine Arth

Founder and principal designer behind Lobster Phone, Kristine is known for building brands that carefully balance timelessness with distinct visual expression.

Prior to founding Lobster Phone, Arth was the director of brand at fuseproject, where she built the brand practice from the ground up and led a team of international, multidisciplinary designers.

A celebration of the diversity, overlap and undeniable power of design.

With its roots as the national meeting of the Industrial Designers Society of America, the IDC has grown into something much bigger. Today, we recognize that our creative community is not binary and the role of design is constantly shifting. Once siloed disciplines now overlap and blur with fluidity.

At its core, IDC will always remain a platform for amplifying the unique and bold voice of industrial design. However, it is critical that we open the conversation to as many creative perspectives as possible, in the interest of developing a shared dialogue that advances our ability to collaborate and magnifies the impact of our work. As a result, IDC is built to convene the boldest and brightest minds in design, innovation, and creativity for three days of inspirational dialogue and interactive experiences.

For over 50 years, the Industrial Designers Society of America has worked to advance the practice of industrial design through education, information, community and advocacy.  Our roots stretch to the beginning of the profession and our members are, and have been, some of the most celebrated industrial designers of all time. Today, we exist as a global voice for industrial design within a broad ecosystem of design disciplines and we celebrate the cross-functional overlap of many creative fields.
